Guardianship Services Commission

The Guardianship Services Commission (GSC) exists to

  • Provide information, training and support to family members who are interested in guardianship for a person with a developmental disability.
  • Provide actual guardianship for persons with developmental disabilities who have demonstrated a need for the service and have nobody else to advocate for them
  • Improve systems of guardianship
  • Advocate on behalf of persons with developmental disabilities
  • Handle all financial aspects of guardianship to those for which we are guardians
  • Manage specials needs trusts, burial trusts and other finances for individuals with developmental disabilities

Quality of Life/Program Advocacy

The Quality of Life/Advocacy Program exists to

  • Conduct Qualify of Life reviews at group homes throughout Arizona
  • Provide individual advocacy services to those in need
  • Work closely with self-advocates to empower them to exercise their rights
  • Work closely with DDD to improve the quality of life for individuals receiving DDD services

Person Centered Planning

Person Centered Planning is a service designed to

  • Identify an individual's strengths, skills, interests and needs
  • Identify the individual's hopes and dreams
  • Identify the supports needed to reach those hopes and dreams

Person Centered planning helps people to

  • Think outside the box
  • Be creative with service delivery
  • Unite people toward a common goal
  • Develop a plan and follow through with the plan
